The EFFECTIVE project follows a clear multi-step approach to orientate the clustering of FoF activities from the identification of the needs of the market (both form the consumer and from the industry perspectives), to the identification of networking frameworks and industry alliances for the definition of all necessary elements, to concretely define business strategies for the successful exploitation of research results.
In order to guarantee the achievement of EFFECTIVE main objectives and to manage efficiently and effectively the project complexity, a coherent work plan, over 24 months, has been developed.
Seven Work Packages (WPs) have been identified as main building blocks of the project, each of them having specific targets and being critical to reach the overall impact of EFFECTIVE. They are presented in dedicated sections, accessible from the main menu, and visible in a modelised form in the image above.
Active clustering and Exploitation are at the core of EFFECTIVE:
Exploitation aims at the identification of strategic elements needed to successfully exploit FoF Projects activities and results, and structure them into a coordinated set of meaningful, usable tools. In parallel, the creation of networks of relevant public and private stakeholders to support the implementation of such exploitation strategies at various levels is foreseen: these stakeholders will be identified and engaged in the course of the Action.
Active clustering activities target the definition of criteria and of a logical framework for aggregation of FoF projects activities and results according to exploitation potential, into a Clustering Model based on the selected technology domains and individual industrial application areas. The Action foresees active clustering of FoF activities and results, following the Clustering Model developed, and the construction of Clustering Database, enabling the application of such Model.
Case studies will “pilot” the application, at regional level, of the Clustering Model, Industrial Exploitation Framework and Network developed, towards their validation and fine-tuning. They are intended to exploit, test and validate all project results produced so far, as well as to gather best practices from the ground to review and enrich the emerging EFFECTIVE toolset.
Feeding into these activities, the collection and structure of business, market and technology inputs (Strategic inputs) is intended to inform a “contextualised” definition of the Clustering Model and of the Exploitation Framework. The gathering of ex-ante and ex-post relevant expertise to enhance pertinence, robustness and validity of support actions proposed is also foreseen.
A further aim of EFFECTIVE is to foster sustainability and reinforce effectiveness of Action results beyond the lifespan of the project, through the definition of monitoring procedures and instruments to track implementation, roadmapping of further research and innovation actions to support the FoF Programme, and the elaboration of future FoF priorities.
Finally, dissemination & internationalisation activities are meant to disseminate and promote Action activities and results (models, frameworks, guidelines, databases, best practices, roadmap…) to European, national and regional stakeholders (institutional, research and – especially – industry), as well as to international stakeholders, in order to maximise impact of EFFECTIVE toolset. Such operations will be conducted also by leveraging existing networks.
