Primary results that EFFECTIVE will bring about are:
Furthermore, the Action is expected to have a positive impact on:
Time-to-market of new research result, which today is often longer than the duration of the project itself and and involves a fraction of developed enabling technologies, will be improved so as to reduce time-to-market considerably and address a larger share of FoF projects results.
This will be facilitated by the adoption of cross-technology and cross-industry business- and market-driven approach, based on in-depth analysis of the industry and business innovation challenges. This will be obtained by means of the definition, application and validation of an EFFECTIVE clustering model, EFFECTIVE industrial exploitation framework and the identification and networking of key actors to foster exploitation and take up of FoF Projects results.
Strong incentive to pursue industrial innovation and therefore accelerate the process of exploitation and take up of FoF project results through:
Increasing usability of aggregated results will be fostered through higher levels of standardisation, more efficient IPR management and heightened attention to business- and market-related aspects.
The action targets a shrinking of time needed to properly cluster FoF project results in order to develop a new market application, and a sizeable reduction of time needed to set up a suitable network and alliance of actors to successfully execute the exploitation and technology transfer.
This will be favoured by better mutual knowledge in the FoF community in terms of project competencies, area of interest and ideas in turn guaranteed by:
Public presence and awareness of FoF PPP activities will be raised in particular with reference to the integration of national and regional actors in the FoF clustering model and exploitation framework, so that the number of organisations directly networked and interlinked with the FoF results exploitation and transfer activities will be increased.
Clustering and networking activities broaden the prospective range of application by interlinking activities and results in meaningful application areas, highlighting opportunities for synergies and sharing best practices, pointing out technological complementarities and bringing forward aspects that might not have been immediately apparent in the more restricted scope of the individual project.
EFFECTIVE project leverages the linkages with a considerable number of highly relevant networks and associations at European level as well as at international level.
Common and structured support methods and tools for activities of common interest are estimated to support the overall costs and time reduction of FoF results exploitation.
This effect will be ensured by the definition, development and validation of the EFFECTIVE industrial exploitation framework which is meant to select all elements that are needed for concrete strategies for the exploitation of FoF project activities and results; define business models, market, financial and economic data and indicators; identify sources of finance and legal aspects linked to exploitation issues.
The anticipation of business trends and market prospects will increase the exploitation and transfer portential of FoF projects activities and results, since all such activities will be conceived and developed with attention to such trends and prospects already from the vey beginning of projects definition.
As such, the adoption of a business- and market-centered strategic reference model and identification of the main general socioeconomic driversexpected to influence the exploitation potential in the identified application areas is foreseen. As is the identification of major drivers and barriers for market-driven clustering and exploitation of FoF project activities.
The addressed case studies will support FoF activities and results exploitation and transfer actions in the addressed regions: one FoF activities exploitation and transfer success story is expected to be delivered by each region in each addressed case study coherently with the EFFECTIVE overall framework and objectives.
An impact is thus expected for the 4 addressed national/regional case studies, where the whole EFFECTIVE clustering and exploitation framework will be applied and assessed. Particularly, such regions will benefit from the networked and structured exploitation and transfer of FoF activities and results in their regional system, with reference to the addressed sectors and cases. So enforcing their integration in the FoF network, their knowledge and skills about FoF projects clustering mechanisms and about the structured EFFECTIVE exploitation framework, including all the addressed aspects. Furthermore they will benefit from the relations and links that will be established by the EFFECTIVE networking and alliance building activities at all levels from regional up to international.
